The Casper College District Board is seeking interested residents within the district’s boundaries to serve as an appointed member of the board of trustees to fill the position until the scheduled election in 2018. The deadline for submitting a letter of interest is 5 p.m. Friday, June 30, 2017.

Board member Matthew Loucks has submitted his resignation as a member of the Casper College District Board of Trustees, effective June 21, 2017. Trustee Louck’s resignation was prompted by his anticipated move to a residence outside of our district boundaries. Wyoming law requires that district governing board members reside and be registered voters in the districts they serve. The appointed replacement position on the board of trustees will be an interim position, which means the person appointed will serve until the next election in 2018 at which time they may choose to run for election to fulfill the remainder of Trustee Louck’s term for two years.

Trustee Loucks was elected to the Casper College District Board in 2012 and served as treasurer and chairman of the board of trustees. Casper College President Darren Divine said, “Trustee Loucks provided a valuable service to the college and community with his work on the Board of Trustees. We wish him well and appreciate all that he has accomplished.”

Candidates must be 18 years of age or older, citizens of Wyoming, and residents and registered voters in Natrona County.

The board of trustees will make an appointment to fill the vacancy in an open session at their regular meeting on Tuesday, July 18, 2017. Candidates who have submitted a letter of interest and meet eligibility criteria will be contacted by a board sub-committee for appointment prior to the meeting.

If you are interested in being considered for appointment to this vacancy, please send your letter of interest by Friday, June 30, 2017, via email to sandovalsuzanne@gmail.com or by mail to: Casper College District Board, ATTN: Trustee Suzanne Sandoval, 125 College Drive, Casper, WY 82601.
