“Portraits of a Lyric Enthusiast,” the works of recent Casper College graduate Katie Dolajak, will be on display in the Goodstein Art Gallery now through Monday, Feb. 27. An artist’s talk will also be given by Dolajak on Tuesday, Feb. 9 at noon in the Visual Arts Center, Room 102.

Showcased in the exhibit are works, that Dolajak began in a Casper College digital photography course, which matured and were finished in a special topics course. “I am engaged by the juxtaposition of visual art and music and will draw out a composition to best describe the emotion felt when experiencing a song or lyric,” says Dolajak.

Dolajak, who earned her Associate of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design at Casper College “enjoys a variety of mediums ranging from photography to printmaking. My digital works embrace the use of simple layouts with dynamic typography,” she says. In her other works, “I like to display a little bit of a creep factor with heavy contrasting values and grungy details.”

Both the show and artist’s talk are free and open to the public. The Goodstein Art Gallery and Room 102 are both located in the Goodstein Visual Arts Center on the Casper College campus. The gallery is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday. For more information call 307-268-2060.
