A dinner featuring foods from Oaxaca, Mexico, will be held on Thursday, Nov. 12 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Tobin Dining Hall, located in the Casper College Student Union building.

The dinner will feature stuffed Ensalada (salad), Queso Fundido Con Chorizo (melted cheese dip with chorizo), Oaxaca Pozole (hominy stew), Mole Verde Con Costillas de Puerco (green sauce with pork ribs), veggie tamal (vegetable tamale), vegetarian torta (vegetarian cake), and Churros (fried dough pastry), Traditional Flan (egg custard), and Pastel Tres Leches (three milks cake) for dessert.

Eric Atkins, world languages instructor, will give a presentation on Oaxaca during the dinner. Atkins has led several trips to Oaxaca since coming to Casper College in August of 2010 to teach primarily Spanish.

Tickets for the Oaxaca dinner are now on sale and are $12 for adults when purchased in advance by Friday, Nov. 6 and $13.75 at the door. The ticket price for children ages 7-12 is $8.75 and there is no charge for children 6 and under. Sales tax will be added to all ticket purchases.

Tickets may be purchased at the Casper College Business Office or the Gateway Café, both located on the third floor of the Nolte Gateway Building; as well as at Tobin Dining Hall, located in the Casper College Student Union, during regular meal times. Cash is accepted at all locations and credit cards and checks are also accepted at the cafeteria and café.

Two other dinners are scheduled for the school year, the Philippines on February 18, and Peru on March 31. The cultural dinner series is hosted by the Casper College International Education Advisory Board.
