6-19 hrs/wk (depending on availability) Monday-Friday. Some weekend/evening work will be required during peak semester times, for the Fall 2020- Spring 2021 year. Summer 2020 shifts will be evaluated and offered based on availability in the Spring 2021 semester.

The position of Recruitment and Retention Ambassador is a position of leadership at Casper College and serves an essential role in the success of both future and current Casper College students. A Recruitment and Retention Ambassador(RRA) is a role model, peer mentor and represents the best Casper College has to offer. The RRA’s primary function is to help prospective students understand the benefits of attending Casper College, recruit interested students, assist in efforts aimed at retaining students, and to help with the daily office operations. This position provides potential applicants the student’s view of college life and assists current students with navigating college life, overcoming barriers to success, and referring to on-campus resources. RRA’s must develop in-depth knowledge of all aspects of college life: academics, student life, athletic programs, enrollment policies and procedures, and all facilities and their purpose. As front-line representatives of the school and role models for all students, RRA’s are committed to excellent customer service, confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism at all times. Recruitment and Retention Ambassadors help coordinate and host events associated with the Admission and Student Success departments.
Essential Job Duties:
Maintain strict confidentiality; specifically while working with students and student information in various modalities
Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and continuing students
Engage prospective students through individual phone calls or online chat sessions
Assist with retention efforts including targeted outreach to students who are struggling, identifying barriers and referring them to appropriate services
Following up with faculty retention alerts via emails and phone calls to current students
Conduct campus tours: showing visitors campus and answering questions in a professional and personable manner.
Provide information for both on and off campus resources and employment opportunities
Assist all staff with on and off campus recruiting and other school-sponsored events, such as Thunderbird Thursdays, Discover CC, Job Fair, campus visits, local state tournaments, faculty requested booths, and registration events.
Serve as an Orientation Leader: Conduct campus tours: showing new students campus and answering questions in a professional and personable manner.
Perform numerous office duties including but not limited to: front desk coverage , greeting all visitors, operate a multi-line phone system, schedule appointments, respond to emails, complete reminder calls, data entry, filing, mailings
Operate various Admission and Student Success software systems
Set up and proctor placement exams
Complete various projects for all Recruitment and Retention staff such as, data tracking, building and maintaining resource information sheets or distributing marketing materials throughout campus
Minimum Qualifications:
Degree-seeking student, enrolled in at least 6 credit hours at CC or a partnership institution. Good academic standing, minimum 2.75CGPA
Effective teamwork and collaboration
Strong Interpersonal communication skills (oral and written)
Public speaking and presentation skills
Computer proficiency and a willingness to learn new technology
Able to adapt quickly to changing student needs in a rapidly moving environment
Inquisitive and curious nature
Open-minded and able to engage with a diverse population
Self-directed and driven to succeed
Customer Service driven
Current Casper College or high school senior that is degree seeking student, enrolled in at least 6 credit hours at Casper College or a partnership institution
Previous knowledge of campus; location of campus resources (preferred but not required)
Knowledge of confidentiality-FERPA regulations
Provide class schedule, immediately upon registration
Availability to participate in both on-campus and off campus event
Availability to participate in SOAR
Work Environment:
Typical work environment is an office setting requiring normal safety precautions. Non-routine occasional work may be spent around the community and in local public K12 schools. Short periods of time will be spent outdoors travelling between campus buildings in various weather conditions. Frequent interaction with the public may occur (registration, scholarship applicants, Casper College employees).
Physical Demands:
Employee is regularly required to sit, speak, hear, use hands and fingers to handle materials and use computer, feel, and reach with hands and arms. Lifting of up to 25 pounds may be required (office supplies, paper boxes, etc…). Periods of walking may occur and may require carrying materials or supplies, as well as, leadking tours of campus lasting two or more hours at a time. Work is usually performed during the normal workday however, early morning, late evening and weekend work may be required during periods of critical attendance.
