Exciting classes to start a new year will be offered in January through Casper College’s Community Education Department. Class topics include Dance Cardio, HIIT Step Aerobics, Puppy Kindergarten, Air Fryer Finger Food, and more.

“There’s no better time than the new year to challenge yourself, embrace new interests, and set meaningful goals. Explore our exciting lineup of courses and start the year with inspiration,” said Zhanna Gallegos, community education coordinator at Casper College.

  • Dance Cardio is for those who want to get lean, toned, and energized through invigorating exercise choreographed to a variety of fun and stimulating music. Taught by Patty Kempf, participants will get fit with low- to moderate-intensity exercises ranging from traditional aerobics to cardio drumming. “Dance cardio training is gentle on joints, improves mood, and does wonders for the body and overall health,” said Kempf. Suitable for beginners and an aging population, the class will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9-10 a.m. Jan. 26 through March 18.
  • Another class taught by Kempf, HIIT Step Aerobics, will help students improve their muscle strength and overall fitness as they sculpt their physique through high-intensity interval training, or HIIT. According to Kempf, the cardiovascular step workout consists of fast-paced, high-intensity bursts followed by short rest periods. HITT Step Aerobics is suitable for all ages. The class will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8-9 a.m., Jan. 27 through March 19.
  • The ever-popular Puppy Kindergarten will be offered again on Thursday, Jan. 29, from 6-7:30 p.m. Taught by the staff from Sit Means Sit, this class will teach participants how to motivate their puppy, set clear boundaries, and reward good behavior. It is both fun and practical. All owners must bring proof of rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella vaccinations along with a 6-foot nonretractable or bungee leash, treats, and a flat collar for their puppy. Registration is for one person and one dog, and owners are asked to ensure their puppy is friendly and nonreactive to people and other puppies.
  • Finally, a class to show you how to become an air fryer pro in time for the playoffs or any social gathering. In Air Fryer Finger Food, learn how to prepare an array of fun and delicious dishes from crispy chicken wings and meatballs to chickpeas and bacon-wrapped snacks. According to instructor Ginger Olson, participants will leave with a “playbook” of winning recipes. All supplies are provided, and everyone is asked to bring small containers for leftovers. Air Fryer Finger Food will be held on Saturday, Jan. 31, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Community education offers noncredit courses for personal enrichment and lifelong learning for people 18 and older. Call 307-268-3401 or visit community education.
