Casper College’s exciting SparkTank initiative kicks off for second year

Casper College is pleased to announce the kickoff for the second year of Casper College’s SparkTank.
According to Rachel Chadderdon, students are currently raising funds to match $20,000 in donations raised to date, $15,000 from the Casper College Foundation, and $5,000 from the John P. Ellbogen Foundation. All funds raised will be granted to local nonprofit organizations.
The goal of SparkTank is to bring Casper College students, local nonprofits, and social entrepreneurs together to support community needs in Natrona County. Led by Casper College students, SparkTank awards funding, on a competitive basis, to local 501(c)(3) organizations to support projects that serve the local community in ways that may otherwise be overlooked. “Applications will open in January, and students will review submissions and conduct site visits to narrow down the semifinalists who will make their pitch at the final event in the spring,” said Chadderdon, dean for the Casper College School of Business and Industry.
SparkTank connects students with local nonprofits, building meaningful partnerships that strengthen the region and offer students an unmatched, real-world learning experience that goes beyond the classroom. The project aims to spark a sense of community service within Wyoming’s future business and community leaders while helping local nonprofits amplify their impact.
