Ty Larson, the new head coach of Casper College men’s basketball, will lead this year’s boys’ basketball camp Monday through Wednesday, June 22-24. A high school basketball skills camp will run Thursday, June 25.

The first camp will feature two sessions. The first session is for third through fifth-grade boys and will run from 10 a.m. to noon. The second session is for sixth through eighth-grade students and will run June 22-24 from 1-3 p.m. The Thursday camp June 25 is for high school athletes.

“Players will develop shooting, ball handling, and defensive skills through high-energy drills and team play and compete in fun games and contests,” said Larson.

The high school basketball skills camp is designed to prepare high school athletes in grades nine through 12 for the next level. The camp will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The intensive camp will mirror a collegiate practice environment and focus on advanced offensive concepts, defensive intensity, and specialized skill work. “This is a chance for these players to showcase their talent in front of the Casper College staff and experience the training standards of a premier National Junior College Athletic Association program,” Larson noted.

All three basketball camps will be held at the “Swede” Erickson Thunderbird Gymnasium. The cost per person is $130 for cash or check, or $135 with a credit card, for the third through fifth-grade and sixth through eighth-grade camps, and $80 for cash or check, or $85 with a credit card, for the skills camp. Fees include a camp basketball and a T-shirt.
