Applications open for KEY Camp
Applications are now open for Casper College’s popular KEY Camp. The one-week camp is designed for high-ability students entering the seventh or eighth grade in the fall of 2022.
KEY, which stands for Knowledge Enrichment for Youth, is a weeklong camp that includes instruction, room and board, snacks, recreational activities, classroom and laboratory materials, equipment, and technology usage. All campers stay in the secured Casper College Residence Hall, and qualified instructors and counselors facilitate the college campus experience and extracurricular activities.
“KEY Camp is a six-day summer resident program for gifted and academically-minded students. KEY offers unique enrichment opportunities and experiences in a variety of academic areas,” said Zhanna Gallegos, community education coordinator.
The camp costs $640 to attend, and three sessions of the six-day camp are available: June 12-17, June 19-24, and June 26-July 1. A teacher recommendation is required, enrollment is limited, and the program may fill with qualified applicants before the application deadline. Only completed online applications will be considered and are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until the program is full. The application deadline is Sunday, March 20.
