The Casper College Alumni Association is hosting a trip to the central Italian region of Tuscany Sept. 28-Oct. 6, 2022. Reservations are now being taken for the trip, which is limited to 20 participants.

“We wanted to try a different Mediterranean country from where groups from Casper College have traveled before, primarily the Greek island of Crete,” said Ann Dalton. In addition, another attraction of the trip was staying in one place. “Because we will stay in one place, a smaller town outside Florence, we will be able to learn more about the area we are staying in and won’t have to travel to multiple hotels and towns during this excursion,” Dalton noted.

Staying in one location, however, will not diminish trip highlights and participants will tour the spa resort town of Montecatini Terme, partake in a guided tour of Lucca, enjoy a cultural tour of Florence, explore historic sites in the Republic of Pisa, visit a cheese farm in San Gimignano to enjoy delicious pecorino cheese, go on a winery tour at a local farm to sample delightful wines, take part in a cooking class to learn about Tuscan cuisine, and much more.

The cost of the nine days and eight nights in Tuscany includes roundtrip airfare from Casper, airport-to-hotel transfers, hotel accommodations, seven breakfasts, three dinners, and select fees.

Dalton, associate director of development and alumni engagement, and Denise Bressler, executive director of the Casper College Foundation and Alumni Association, will serve as travel assistants to ensure everyone’s comfort and satisfaction. “Participants won’t have to do anything except enjoy themselves in a beautiful and relaxing atmosphere,” Dalton said.

The cost per person is $4,349 for single accommodations, $3,899 for double, and $3,869 for triple. After March 29, 2022, the price will rise by $100. An optional five-day, three-night Rome pre-tour extension is also available for an additional $1,199 per person, double accommodation only.
