Jazz Night is back after two years

Jazz Night at Casper College will be presented for the first time in two years on Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2021, at 7 p.m. The last Jazz Night concert was presented in 2019.

The concert will feature the musical talents of the Casper College Jazz Ensemble and the Casper College Contemporary Singers.

Directed by Zachary Vreeman, DMA, choral instructor, the Contemporary Singers vocal selections will include “Autumn Leaves,” “The Summer’s Eyes are Blue,” and “Mummer’s Dance.” Soloists include Casper College students Jennifer Box, Ryan Loghry, and Izabelle Cardenas.

The CC Jazz Ensemble, under the direction of Joshua R. Mietz, DMA, music instructor, will perform Duke Ellington’s hit “It Don’t Mean a Thing (If It Ain’t Got That Swing”), “Blue Monk” by Thelonius Monk, “Spain” by Chick Corea, plus others.

Jazz Night is free and open to the public and will occur in the Wheeler Concert Hall, located in the Music Building on the Casper College campus.
