By: Lisa S. Icenogle

The Casey James Blues Band will be in concert on Monday, April 17 at 7 p.m. in Wheeler Concert Hall. The concert is free and open to the public.

James, who hails from the St. Louis area, has performed his “unique style of original, down-home blues music at clubs and festivals across the United States,” said Ron Coulter, percussion instructor at Casper College. The guitarist, vocalist and songwriter “carries on the great American blues tradition with his performances of Delta, Texas, and Chicago blues styles while at the same time drawing from his own past experiences to craft original songs in the blues tradition that reflect his history, present life, and propel blues music forward in new and meaningful directions,” Coulter notes.

According to Coulter, “James’ performances are exciting, high energy, visceral experiences; always impassioned, always unpredictable, always leaving the audience wanting more.” Prior appearances include the King Biscuit Blues Festival, WC Handy Blues Festival, Riverside Blues Festival, Backstage Pass Series, and others.

The Wheeler Concert Hall is located in the Music Building on the Casper College campus.
