The Tate Geological Museum will be celebrating its 40th anniversary with a fundraiser titled “All That Glitters” on Saturday, April 13 beginning at 6 p.m. at the Ramkota Hotel and Conference Center.

“We are pleased to invite the public to a celebration and fundraiser in honor of the Tate Geological Museum’s 40th anniversary,” said Patti Finkle, director of museums. The evening will feature “… a delicious champagne and brunch buffet, followed by delectable desserts. Those attending will be able to enjoy some wine while they wander through the silent auction offerings,” Finkle said.

Items available in the silent auction include collectible rocks, fossils, one-of-a-kind works of art, “entertaining” baskets of goodies, and relaxing trips perfect for a weekend get-a-way. A live auction will follow later in the event and include what Finkle says are “… fabulous items and exciting opportunities.”

All proceeds raised during the event will go to the Tate Geological Museum’s support fund, which allows the museum to continue to offer educational opportunities to the community.

Tickets for the event are $75 per person or $140 per couple and will be on sale through Monday, April 8. For more information or to purchase tickets call the Tate at 307-268-2447.
