“A Winter Wonderland” Theme of Holiday Concert

"A Winter Wonderland" is the theme for this year's holiday concert.

“A Winter Wonderland” is the theme for this year’s holiday concert to be presented by the Casper College Music Department on Saturday, Dec. 9 beginning at 2:15 p.m. in the Music Building.

The concert will feature three Casper College groups: The Brass Ensemble and the Concert Band, both under the direction of Douglas Bull, and the Flute Ensemble under the direction of Delores Thornton.

According to Bull, brass instructor and band director, the CC Brass Ensemble will perform selections beginning at on the second floor of the Music Building. The ensemble will perform seasonal melodies prior to the main concert.

At 3 p.m. the CC Flute Ensemble and the CC Concert Band will perform in the Wheeler Concert Hall also located in the Music Building. The flute ensemble will perform four selections: “This is Halloween” from “The Nightmare Before Christmas,” “Christmas Time is Here” from “A Charlie Brown Christmas,” “I’m So Glad Each Christmas Eve,” and “Ringing in the Holidays.”

The Casper College Concert Band will perform “A Christmas Festival” “Midnight Sleighride,” “Celebrate Christmas,” “Fantasy on a Bell Carol,” and “Joy in All Things.”

“A Winter Wonderland” concert is free and open to the public. The Music Building is located on the Casper College campus.
