College Announces New Online Degree

A program once only available on campus is now being offered online at Casper College. Both the A.A. S. degree and the certificate in Office Management will be available online starting with the fall 2017 semester.

According to Roberta Marvel, this new option will allow both traditional and nontraditional students to learn valuable skills essential for any organization. Marvel, interim dean for the Casper College School of Business and Industry, noted that the degree, in particular, is a perfect way for someone to enhance their current job or to move along a new career path.

The U.S. Department of Labor says that jobs in this segment are expected to grow through 2024. As of May 2016, the department listed the median annual wage for office and administrative support positions at $34,050.

“Successful graduates are suited for a wide variety of positions depending on the industry they choose for employment. Graduates will have the technical, industry, and business skills for a professional position in a variety of industries,” said Marvel.

Registration is currently underway for the fall semester, which begins on Tuesday, Sept. 5.
