German Club Sells Advent Calendars for Holiday Season

By: Lisa S. Icenogle

The Casper College German Club is selling authentic German Adventskalenders (Advent calendars) for $8 each now through December 2.

The calendars, which tell the story of Christmas, are made in Germany. “Each advent calendar has 24 tiny doors with chocolate behind them – a door for each day counting down to Christmas. As a window is opened for each day, a piece of chocolate is revealed,” said Charles Ewing, world language instructor at Casper College and sponsor of the CC German Club.

Proceeds from the sale will go to support the club members’ trip to Austria in March 2016.

To purchase calendars, contact Ewing at 307-268-2849, cewing@caspercollege.edu, or stop by Liesinger Hall, Rm. 289.
