My bio

I started working in machine shops after I left West Valley Community College, Saratoga, Ca. in 1977. I have been fortunate to work in many different aspects of the various machining fields, from general “job” shops that work on anything that comes through the door to “captive” shops that design and manufacture their own products.

I spent the last 18 years at a local captive shop. I was the shop foreman there yet still running machines. Some of my duties included training of new hires on a number of machines as well as setting up manual and CNC machines and a 60 ton injection molding machine. During my day I would help with the design of new products and injection molds. I have many years of experience working with SurfCam and Solidworks, EZ-Cam and AutoCad.

I ran my own 5 man job shop in the early 80’s. My time spent in machine shops has taken me from California, Oregon, Nevada, Colorado and Bangkok, Thailand.

I believe that I teach what the students need to learn to be safe in the shop and to succeed in the work environment.

I began teaching at Casper College part time in the fall of 2010, continuing in the spring of 2011 while still working in the industry. I accepted a full time position during that time.

I've been married to my better half since 1988, and we have 2 wonderful daughters. I love to golf, hunt and fly-fish, and am trying to find time to restore a 1941 Ford Coupe.
