John P. Ellbogen Foundation Opportunity Scholarship

​Who is this scholarship for?

• Casper College students who:
  • are 24 years of age or older.
  • are enrolled in one of the qualifying degree or certificate programs, listed below.
  • have demonstrated Wyoming residency for not less than three years immediately preceding the application.
  • have filled out a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the academic year for which they are applying for a scholarship and have an unmet financial need.
• Preference will be given to those that have not earned an associate degree or higher.

What is the award amount?

Scholarship awards are limited to no more than $1,500 per student per semester up to the total cost of attendance for full-time attendance, and for no more than a total of $3,000 per academic year. Full-time attendance is encouraged, but not required. The award amount will be prorated for less than full-time attendance.

The Ellbogen Opportunity Scholarship funds will only be provided if the student has unmet needs and only after all public or private non-loan financial aid has been applied first.

How many times can I receive this scholarship?

Scholarships may be awarded for up to a maximum of two academic years, which may include a single summer semester for students who maintain continuous enrollment, meet satisfactory academic progress, and maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.5.
