Boomers Can Learn Defense Tactics at Casper College

A class designed to teach boomers how to cope with situations that arise in which they may need to defend themselves is being offered through the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute.

A class designed to teach boomers how to cope with situations that arise in which they may need to defend themselves is being offered through the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, OLLI at Casper College, February 12 and 13.

“Do Not Be a Victim: Defense Tactics for Boomers” will provide ways for boomers to avoid current scams, situational awareness, and learn strategies for scenarios including active shooter and home security. Instructor Jeremy Shearer “… will demonstrate the principles of balance, strength, and joint manipulation, and how to avoid dangerous situations,” said Vicki Pollock, lifelong learning specialist at Casper College.

The class will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on both days and will include a 90-minute break for lunch.
