How to Cite WYLDCat Databases

Below lists the recommendations that each service/vendor such as EBSCOhost has for citing their databases.  Check with your instructor to see if they prefer that you list the entire URL.

Modern Language Association (MLA) Example:

Carmichael, Jim.  "Worthwhile wildcats."  Outdoor Life.  June/July 1997:  44.  Academic Search Premier.  EBSCOhost.  Goodstein Foundation Lib., Casper, WY.  16 Apr., 2001. EBSCOhost

Additional Information:

  • Most databases offer citing tips.  Under "Help,"  EBSCO has a "Styles of Citations" page.  In Wilson, click "InfoCenter" to see "How to cite articles."
  • Current copies of the MLA Handbook for Writers of Research Papers and the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association are available at the Circulation Desk.
  • The Writing Center handouts for APA and MLA formats are available at the Reference Desk.  Assistance is available from your instructor and the Writing Center
  • For further assistance, see the Duke Libraries:  Assembling a list of works cited for your paper
