Geocaching, Ballet, and Essential Oils Available Through OLLI

The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Casper College is offering three unique classes during September, and registration for each is going on now.

“Introduction to Geocaching” (OLLI 2090) will be held on Thursday, Sept. 14 from 1 to 4 p.m. Taught by Darcie Gudger, those attending will learn how to use their smart phone or mobile device to hunt for real objects, known as caches, that have been hidden around town by people.  Geocaching, known as the original global position game, is enjoyed by all ages.

“Bucket List Ballet” (OLLI 2110) is for those who wish to discover their inner grace, or who may have learning about ballet on their bucket list. Taught by Lucia Hill, participants will learn simple ballet moves to improve their posture, get exercise, and move through life gracefully. The class will be held on Friday Sept. 15, 22, and 29 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. According to Hill, no previous experience is necessary.

The final offering, “Essential Oils for Pets” (OLLI 3010) will take participants on an exploration of essential oil uses with pets and the importance of using quality oils. According to Jessie LeClair, instructor, the class will include a fieldtrip to a barn to see application techniques for pets and to observe an equine raindrop demonstration, a technique that uses specific oils to help build a horse’s immune system. The class will be held on Thursday, Sept. 14 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. and the field trip will take place on Thursday, Sept. 21 from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
