Virtual Trek Allows Runners to Participate from Anywhere

For the second year in a row, the Casper College T-Bird Trek is featuring a virtual alternative for those who can’t make it to the college on Saturday, Sept. 17.

“Last year we added the virtual option and it was an enormous success with runners participating from five international locations and 30 of the 50 states. This year we hope to have participants from more international locations and all 50 states,” said Ann Dalton, associate director of development.

The virtual trek allows participants to start anytime and anywhere as long as they complete their run before September 17. The virtual trek can even be done concurrently with another race.

“We’d like to see people running or walking the Trek together, challenging friends in other states and countries, and having fun. Virtual racers can join in the fun on social media by using #itsyourtrek and submitting their pictures online. We are trying to make this really fun” noted Dalton.

Those interested in participating need to sign up by Friday, Sept. 16 for either the half-marathon, 10k, or 5k at Those who complete their virtual trek will receive a T-Bird Trek performance shirt, a finisher prize for the chosen race, and will be featured on the T-Bird Trek Facebook page in September.
