Senior Recital Set for Wheeler

Through an agreement with Valley City State University, Mala Stagg will be presenting her senior bassoon recital on Saturday, April 22 at 7 p.m. in the Wheeler Concert Hall. The event is free and open to the public.

Stagg will play major selections from “Concerto in D Minor, movement III” by Antonio Vivaldi; “Concerto for Bassoon, Op. 75” by Carl Maria von Weber; “Concerto in Bb Major, K. 191, movement II” by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart; and “The Five Sacred Trees, movements I and III” by John Williams.

Stagg, who received her associate in music education from Casper College, is currently a member of the Casper College Concert Band. During her time as a student at Casper College she was also active in the Casper College Clarinet Ensemble, Women’s Choir, and Collegiate Chorale. She has been able to pursue her bachelor’s and study bassoon with Richard Turner, Casper College bassoon instructor, through an agreement between the two schools.

The Wheeler Concert Hall is located in the Music Building on the Casper College campus.
