My career at Casper College started in 2004 as a part-time student. Starting slowly, I worked my way up to full-time status. I also became a volunteer with the Adult Learning Center (ALC) in the fall of 2005 via a service-learning project, which was a requirement of my government course. I went on to become a work-study student with the ALC in May of 2006, and then was hired part time and then full time. I received my associate degree in para education in 2007 and my associate in elementary education, graduating with distinction, in 2008. I am working towards a bachelor's in social science.
My responsibilities include entering data into the LACES database, filing, answering the phone and checking students in and out. I set up appointments for future and current students. Helping any of the instructors with problems is one of the opportunities my job allows. I assist our director with anything she needs. Running errands and hunting down information is just a small part of what I get to do. Once in a while I get to help tutor students, which is the favorite part of my job.
I was born and raised in Burlingame, Kansas. I came to Wyoming for the summer in 1981 and have been here ever since. I met my husband Alan when I was playing softball. He was my softball coach! After two dates, we were engaged; we were married five months later, which was over 30 years ago! We have three sons, five grandsons and one granddaughter so far. Our youngest son got married in 2014 so we hope to have more grandbabies! We make our home in Glenrock, Wyoming.
My hobbies include spending time with my husband and family, reading, and watching football and wrestling to name a few. I am a doting grandma, babysitting when I can! I am involved with our church as a clerk/secretary, Bible study teacher and anywhere else I am needed. I have been a literacy volunteer for over 20 years. I am on the board of the Glenrock Booster Club and Casper Midget Football Association. I have been involved with over 20 projects with World Changers as a participant, crew chief, runner, or lunch lugger (someone who brings lunches to the work sites). I have been a pairing official for USA Wrestling for over 14 years. Even though our children are out of the house, we are constantly busy!
