Her lovely wife Kristen teaches voice in the music department. In 2014, by combining powers they created their son Wesley, whose chief talent is keeping his mothers busy.
Kathryn holds bachelor's degrees in math and computer science and the master's in math from New Mexico Tech. In 2009 she completed her math Ph.D. at the University of Wyoming. She has also pursued some postgraduate study in computer science at Georgia Tech. Her research interests include nonstandard analysis, uncertainty quantification, and scientific and high-performance computing.
Formerly known as Kevin, Kathryn is transgender and began her transition during the fall of 2015. Her interests include programming, reading, video games, and being nerdy.
