Ginny Garner came to Casper College in 2013 as both the marketing and hospitality instructor on campus and online.
Prior to coming to Casper College, Ginny spent 13 years in various hospitality and marketing leadership roles. Most recently she opened and managed a 50,000 square-foot, conference center in El Dorado, AR, at South Arkansas Community College where she oversaw the construction and development of the center. After its opening in the spring of 2011, Ginny planned and managed over 600 events in the first two-years of the center’s operation.
Ginny’s other hospitality roles include roles as the operations manager for Masterson Place, catering director for the Holiday Inn on the River, and various front desk positions with Hilton Hotels in Wyoming and Arkansas. She also completed a college internship in 1998 with Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL.
Ginny’s marketing roles include positions within healthcare with the Wyoming Behavioral Institute (WBI) and the Wyoming Medical Center Foundation (WMCF). In her role as the business development coordinator with WBI she managed a state-wide, sales territory and lead state and national, child-safety initiatives in her role as program director for SAFE KIDS of Central Wyoming with the WMCF.
Ginny received her bachelor's degree in communications from the University of Wyoming in 2000 and her master's degree in organizational leadership from Gonzaga University in 2012. She is currently waiting on her certification as a Certified Hospitality Educator from the American Hotel and Lodging Educational Institute.
Ginny is the proud "pet parent" to her Wheaton Terrier, Gabby. When she’s not tending to Gabby's every need, she enjoys reading, yoga, cooking, gardening, watching sports and traveling. Ginny was born in south Arkansas and moved to Casper in 1990 where, other than some college adventures in the late nineties, she stayed until 2010 when she left to go back to Arkansas. Ginny returned to Wyoming in 2013 and considers both Arkansas and Wyoming home. Although she may split her time and heart between the south and the west, her soul lives by the emerald waters of the gulf coast. As a self-described "beach junkie," Ginny spends as much time as possible on Florida's, white-sand beaches of the panhandle.
