Dr. Walter Nolte

Dr. Walter Nolte joined the Casper College staff on July 1, becoming the seventh chief executive officer in the 58-year history of the school.

He comes to Casper from Trenton, Missouri, where he served as president of North Central Missouri College for the past seven years. Prior to that, Dr. Nolte was vice president/dean of instruction and student services at Flathead Valley Community College in Kalispell, Montana for four years. Dr. Nolte began his teaching and administrative career at Tacoma Community College in Washington, where he was a dean of continuing education and history teacher.

He earned his first college degree from Tacoma Community College. He later completed his bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the University of Puget Sound, and his earned his doctorate from the University of Texas at Austin. Enrollment at North Central Missouri grew by 35 percent during his seven years of leadership. During that period he initiated new programs, increased the full-time faculty by 15 percent and streamlined the college’s financial operations. He provided leadership and direction for a successful 10-year re-accreditation for North Central.

Dr. Nolte has always been active in his community. In Missouri he was a member of the chamber of commerce board, a member of the Rotary Club, and served on numerous community boards and councils. At the state level he was very active, serving as an advocate for the community college system.
