Lois A. Davis
Lois A. Davis has been Dean of Educational Resources at Casper College since July 2005. Prior to becoming Dean of Educational Resources at Casper College, Ms. Davis was Director of Academic Computing at Casper College from September 1995 through June 2005. In the 1994-1995 school year, she worked at Casper College as Network Support Specialist. From 1984 until 1994, Ms. Davis taught 10 years in the Business Division at Casper College. Her experience includes middle school and high school teaching. She currently teaches courses for Casper College’s Business Division each semester where her primary teaching experience has been software applications and the Internet.
She earned her first college degree at Casper College. She later completed her Bachelor’s and Master’s of Science Degrees from the University of Wyoming at Laramie. While Ms. Davis’ work has been recognized by the following awards and organizations, her greatest reward and satisfaction has been the success of students and staff who have achieved success in their chosen fields, primarily in networking, computer support, and web applications. In 2004, Ms. Davis saw the need to provide a more stable, robust networking infrastructure to the college campus. The Casper College Board and Foundation responded to the need with a $1.3 million grant to address the fiber, cabling, and the network equipment infrastructure. Every building on campus, including all of student housing became connected to the network and a redundant loop connecting housing to upper campus was completed. All existing and new wiring was tested. All network equipment was replaced and 32 wireless access points were installed.
Ms. Davis is a member of Beta Gamma Sigma and Phi Kappa Phi. She was included in the Marquis Who’s Who in Science and Engineering 2006/2007, Marquis Who’s Who in America 2006, 2005, 2004, 2003, Marquis Who’s Who in Media and Communications 1999, Marquis Who’s Who of American Women 1992, and Outstanding College Students of America 1998. Professional organizations include Office Systems Research Association, and Wyoming Business Teachers.
