I began my M.S. with research in DNA cloning & mapping, then finished my M.S. in Nutrition and Food Chemistry with research in oxalate metabolism related to kidney stones.

• Physiologic Principles: A Tutorial to BIOL 1000 (BIOL 0960 N1/N2), and

BIOL 1000 N1/N2:
Designed to fulfill the laboratory requirement of non-life science majors including those in education, social and behavioral sciences, humanistic studies, and English.

A study of the cell as the unit of life, the chemistry of life, and an overview of the functioning of human organ systems. General biological principles such as homeostasis and structure/function relationships will be emphasized. If time allows, certain principles of evolution will be covered. In addition, this course is appropriate for allied health related majors such as nursing, medical technology, occupational therapy and physical therapy.

FCSC 1141 N1/N2:
An overview of the principles of human nutrition via the Internet. The course includes study of the metabolism of various nutrients and their physiological function in the body, and an in-depth look at our food sources and decisions about those foods. It is recommended for nutrition majors, nursing and health related majors, physical education and early childhood education majors as well as other interested parties.
