Lois A. Davis has been Dean of Educational Resources at Casper College since July 2005. Beginning July 2009 she also became Interim Director of Information Technology.
Ms. Davis has been with Casper College since 1983, and at her most recent position as Dean of Educational Resources since July 2005. Prior to this, she was Director of Academic Computing from September 1995 through June 2005. In the 1994-1995 school year, she worked as Network Support Specialist. From 1984 until 1994, Ms. Davis taught 10 years in the Business Division. Her experience away from Casper College includes middle school and high school teaching. Her
primary teaching experience has been software applications and the Internet
.
She earned her first college degree at Casper College. She later completed her Bachelor's of Science (with honor) and Master’s of Science from the University of Wyoming. While Ms. Davis’ work has been recognized by several awards and organizations, her greatest reward and satisfaction has been the success of students and staff in their chosen fields, primarily in networking, computer support, and web applications. In 2004, Ms. Davis saw the need to provide a more stable, robust networking infrastructure to the college campus. The Casper College Board and Foundation responded to the need with a $1.3 million grant to address the fiber, cabling, and the network equipment infrastructure. Every building on campus, including all of student housing, became connected to the network and a redundant loop connecting housing to upper campus was completed. All existing and new wiring was tested. All network equipment was replaced and 32 wireless access points were installed.
Ms. Davis is a member of Beta Gamma Sigma and Phi Kappa Phi. She was included
in Marquis Who's Who in Finance and Business 2009-2010; Who's Who in Science and Engineering 2006, 2007, and 2008; Marquis Who's Who in America 63rd Edition 2009, 61th Edition 2007, 60th Edition 2006, 59th Edition 2005, 58th Edition 2004, 57th Edition 2003; Marquis Who's Who in the Media and Communications 1998/1999; Marquis Who's Who of American Women 1991/1992, and Outstanding College Students of America in 1988. Professional organizations include Office Systems Research Association and Wyoming Business Teachers. |
