I am a Wyoming native, born and raised in Douglas, Wyoming. I moved to Casper to attend Casper College, and have resided here ever since. I attended Casper College as a traditional student, and received my associate degree in elementary education. Several years later, I returned to the University of Wyoming/Casper College Center as a nontraditional student, and received my bachelor’s in social work, with honors, in 1992. I have been part of the Casper College community, employed as an instructor at the Adult Learning Center at Casper College since 2002.
My duties include instruction in adult secondary education and preparation for the High School Equivalency Certificate (formerly GED). I serve several outreach sites in connection with my employment, and have been instrumental in establishing the site at the Residential Treatment Facility, which serves Native American males from all over the western United States through the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
Prior to my service at Casper College, I was a real estate sales agent, a legal assistant, a case manager for the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services, and (my favorite position) a stay-at-home mom. I have been active on, and held offices in, many local and regional boards and committees throughout my career, both education related and otherwise. I have also been active in many local and state political campaigns. My husband, Tim, and I have two college-age sons, both of whom are attending schools in Massachusetts. In my spare time, I love walking and hiking for health, practicing yoga, and reading all types of genres.
