The 2007 fundraiser was enjoyed by all, with live music by Pete Martinez to finish the evening off very well.
The theme was a little bit western, and the focus of the silent auction were metal cowboy boots that had been decorated by a variety of local and regional artists and museum supporters. Everyone at the museum was very excited seeing the boots as they came in, and it was very hard to pick just one favorite.
Other auction items included a variety of mineral and fossil specimens, pieces of art - including a specially commissioned original painting by acclaimed Wyoming artist Mike Kopriva with a look into our mammoth dig and the life and times of "Dee" the mammoth.
Limited edition prints of Mike Kopriva's painting are available at the Tate Museum for $150.
