ABE/GED CENTER OFFERS $100 FOR NEW NAME
The Casper College Adult Basic Education/GED Center is in need of a new name for the center and is seeking public input through a "Rename the Casper College Adult Basic Education/GED Center Contest.
"We are looking for a new name that reflects the scope of service provided by the program and does not include GED in the name," said Lisa Mixer, ABE/GED programs coordinator. She noted that the new name "must be short and must be recognizable by the public for what services we provide."
The Casper College center serves out-of-school adults, 16 years and older and offers assessment and instruction in basic reading, writing, and math. Most, but not all of the students are pursuing a GED, but the center also serves adults whose native language is not English as well as those seeking United States citizenship.
All submissions can be emailed to or mailed to the Casper College ABE/GED Center, Werner Technical Center, 125 College Dr., Casper, WY 82601. The winner will be chosen by the ABE/GED Center and will receive $100. All submissions will become the property of the ABE/GED Center. For more information call the center at 268-2230.
