Every field of human endeavor collects information- to verify processes, assess quality, and to research new ideas. Statistics is the tool that allows all such analyses to be performed.

Traditionally, statistical methods are only taught in upper division, due to the complicated mathematics required to prove the methods work. None of this math is needed to actually perform a statistical analysis. At Casper College, we believe students can and should acquire advanced skills in statistical research methods as early as possible.

Casper College now offers both an AS degree and a Certificate in Applied Statistics. For all students whose disciplines or work regularly involve research and/or data analysis--Behavioral, Biological, Business, and Social Science majors-- the skills you gain in these courses will make you more valuable in the marketplace, and definitely raise your chances for graduate school admission. The program is structured to be exactly equivalent to the Minor in Statistics at the University. The big advantage at Casper College is directed hands-on instruction with statistical software in classes with a maximum size of sixteen, and immediate access to the instructors for assistance, if needed.
