These scholarships are awarded to full-time, degree-seeking students who are enrolled in the Physical Sciences division which includes: Astromony, Chemistry, Computer Science, Engineering, Geography, Geology, Math, Physics, and Pre-Pharmacy.
All scholarships are subject to the Scholarship Guidelines.
Russ Beamer Memorial - Wyoming residents majoring in engineering, geology, environmental science or other extractive mineral disciplines. Valued at $500. Information from Wyoming Mining Association, P.O. Box 866, Cheyenne, WY 82003. Requires special application. Application deadline is in November.
Ken Coates and Charles Wolff Memorial Mining Industry Scholarship - Wyoming residents majoring in engineering, geology, environmental science or other extractive mineral disciplines. Provided by the American Institute of Mining, Metallurgical, and Petroleum Engineers, Inc. - Wyoming Mining and Minerals Section. Valued at $500. Special application required. Contact the Casper College Students Financial Assistance Office for additional information. Applications are available early October.
Energy Laboratories, Inc. Scholarship - This scholarship is valued at $1000 and is available to sophomores who are majoring in chemistry, computer science, electronics technology, and environmental science, geology, mathematics, physics and water quality technology. Applicants must have graduated from a Wyoming high school. Financial need and involvement in student activities/clubs will be considered. Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0. If selected for this scholarship, the recipient must be enrolled as a full-time student at Casper College during the year the scholarship is awarded. Applications are available at the Casper College Student Financial Assistance Office and are available mid-March.
International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC) - Petroleum technology, petroleum engineering, or related petroleum field majors. Valued at $1,000. Contact the International Association of Drilling Contractors, P.O. Box 1935, Casper, WY, 82602. Deadline is open.
Minerva Landers Scholarship - Awarded to non-traditional, degree-seeking students attending at least half-time (6 credits) with an overall GPA of 2.0. Preference is given for math education majors, then math or education majors. Applications are available mid-March from the Casper College Student Financial Assistance Office.
Society of Petroleum Engineers, Wyoming Petroleum Section - Petroleum-related field. Value varies. Contact the Casper College Student Financial Assistance Office for more information. Applications available early January. Society of Petroleum Engineers, Powder River Basin Section Engineering majors with preference for petroleum technology or petroleum engineering. Four awards valued at $1,000. Contact the Society of Petroleum Engineers, P.O. Box 3977, Gillette, WY, 82717. Applications available early January.
Norm Weis Scholarship - Available to Casper College Physical Science students with a preference given to Physics majors. Must be a full-time student with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.00 to be eligible for the award. Contact the Casper College Students Financial Assistance Office in early October for an application.
Hazel and Howard Wyckoff Scholarship - Available to full-time Casper College students majoring in engineering. Contact the Casper College Engineering Department for more information. Applications are available early September.
Wyoming Contractors Association - Sophomore students pursuing a degree in civil engineering or construction-related areas. Valued at $400 per semester. Information and applications are available at Wyoming Contractors Association, P.O. Box 965, Cheyenne, WY, 82003. Special application is required. You may also pick up the application at the Casper College Student Financial Assistance Office. Deadlines are the end of May and the first of December.
Wyoming Geological Association Geology Scholarship - Available to Casper College students majoring in Geology. Must be a sophomore student having completed at least two geology courses and have an overall GPA of at least 2.0 to qualify. Contact the Casper College Geology Department for more information. Deadline is open.
